This training is designed to equip family lawyers with the skills to navigate the complexities of family law with confidence. Within a supportive environment to learn, reflect and grow, this training is highly practical and involves engagement with actor-based simulation to reflect real-life client scenarios. 

In this training you will:

  • Learn how to take detailed, client-centered instructions, gather relevant information, and provide appropriate referrals tailored to your client’s needs.
  • Gain expertise in writing clear and comprehensive file notes that ensure you stay organised and compliant throughout your cases. 
  • Develop strong case strategies and engage competently and professionally in negotiations on behalf of your clients. 
  • Deepen your understanding of ethical considerations and how to navigate them with integrity.
  • Build your knowledge and apply legal practice skills that are trauma-informed and intersectional. to communicate and engage effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.  
  • Reflect on the importance of self-care and learn practical strategies to manage and prevent burnout. 
Who is this for?

This training is designed for community legal centre family law professionals with over 6 months experience in family law.

The first training session is a half day online. the second session is a full day in person.

Day 2 – 9:30am – 5pm in-person
