Reconciliation Advisory Committee expressions of interest

Women’s Legal Service Victoria (Women’s Legal) is inviting First Nations people with an understanding of family and sexual violence issues impacting their communities to join our Reconciliation Advisory Committee.

It is vital that our Reconciliation actions are developed in partnership with First Nations’ communities, not on behalf of them. Trusting relationships are key to culturally safe and inclusive services and programs for all.

Women’s Legal is establishing an Advisory Committee as one way to support this work. Members will provide advice to Women’s Legal on our approach to reconciliation, including activities, plans and initiatives that we will be undertaking.

As a member of the Advisory Committee, you will:

  • Attend Committee meetings three times per year, either in person or online.
  • Provide guidance and advice on the implementation of the Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan.
  • Develop initiatives and opportunities for consideration for the Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan.
  • Provide relevant cultural knowledge and community insights to discussions and considerations.
  • Occasionally provide feedback on specific initiatives or plans outside of meeting times.
  • Receive a $500 honorarium per Reconciliation Advisory Committee meeting in recognition of the preparation time needed and occasional requests for your feedback outside of meetings.

Help us achieve our vision where all women and non-binary people live free from violence and discrimination in a gender equitable society.

Closing date for expressions of interest is 5:00 pm Monday 7 April 2025.
