Family Violence Intervention Orders

Family Violence Intervention Orders

Do you work with clients who have an Intervention Order or may need to apply for one? Family Violence Intervention Orders (FVIOs) are an important legal response to family violence. Our training will help you understand the legal process of Intervention Orders, including what happens if the order is breached and how they interact with other court orders.

You will learn:

  • To explain the process of an Intervention Order matter through the court system
  • To identify supports – legal and otherwise – to assist your client
  • To explain the process of changing or revoking an Intervention Order
  • To explain the process when there is a breach of an Intervention Order and develop advocacy strategies to report breaches to police
  • How Intervention Orders and other court orders can work together
Who is this for?

Professionals who work in family violence and other community and human service organisations
