Identifying critical legal issues for family violence

Identifying Critical Legal Issues for Family Violence

Women experiencing family violence often have multiple pressing matters that must be dealt with in different courts and under different legislation. You may be the first point of contact for women experiencing family violence. Being able to identify their legal issues and provide legal information, will support your client to navigate the legal system and get the legal assistance they need, early.

You will learn:

  • How to identify critical and urgent legal issues and how to ask the right questions at the right time
  • Legal essentials in family violence, family law and child protection law
  • How to provide appropriate legal information to clients
  • How the legal referral process works, working with lawyers and supporting your client through the legal system
Who is this for?

Professionals who work in family violence and other community and human service organisations.
