Family Law and Separation

This training provides you with the tools to identify family law issues (including urgent issues) and make appropriate legal referrals.

 

You will also be able to identify and explain how family law (legislation and process) interacts with your client’s family violence matter.

 

You will learn:

  • How your client’s Family Violence Intervention Order impacts their Family Law matter
  • How parenting arrangements are made through court and through Family Dispute Resolution
  • Parenting matters and the Family Law Act, including urgent parenting matters such as relocation, recovery and location orders
  • Variation and contravention of parenting orders
  • Property settlement and the Family Law Act
Who is this for?

Community legal centre lawyers who don’t work in Family Law, who wish to gain a better understanding of Family Law matters.
