Practical training to build your family law negotiation skills using realistic, actor‑based simulations.
In this training you will:
- Learn how to take detailed, client-centered instructions, gather relevant information, and provide appropriate referrals tailored to your client’s needs.
- Develop strong case strategies and engage competently and professionally in negotiations on behalf of your clients.
- Deepen your understanding of ethical considerations and how to navigate them with integrity.
- Build your knowledge and apply legal practice skills that are trauma-informed and intersectional to communicate and engage effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Reflect on the importance of self-care and learn practical strategies to manage and prevent burnout.
Who is this for?
Community legal centre lawyers with 6 months to 2 years of experience practising family law.

Day 1 is online, day 2 is in-person.
You will be sent a Zoom link for the online component.
This training is delivered through our online learning platform. You’ll be taken there to enrol.
